Healing Food Series: Yellow Wine Chicken

Yellow wine chicken is a traditional Hakka dish. Mamas who are in their confinement period can greatly benefit from this recipe to nourish and dispel wind (especially during the colder months!). In addition to confinement eating, others can still benefit from this if you are the type to frequently catch colds or often feel that your hands or feet are cold. This nourishing recipe will give you an overall therapeutic effect. This is a super easy and simple dish to prepare, below are some benefits of consuming this dish.

Ingredients
400g free-range chicken (half)
100g old ginger
2 tbsp sesame oil
1 tsp salt
400ml yellow wine
Water (to cover chicken)
Method
Clean the ginger without peeling, and chop it until minced
Put the minced ginger into a hot and dry pan, fry the excess water over medium to low heat at first, then add the sesame oil until fragrant
Add the chicken and continue to stir fry, then add a little yellow wine to force out the aromatics
Pour in enough water to cover the chicken and simmer for 25-30 minutes on medium heat
Finally, add the remainder of the yellow wine and salt to taste, bring to a boil and enjoy.
